It's been my small sail boom for like 12 years. I bought it used back in the day. Is there anyway by serial number, to date it. I probably in the 230lb range in a steamer. What happened to Fiberspar. I loved their products. Until I started snapping masts and booms. But this is one of the first "All Carbon" booms. Thanks!

Fiberspar got sold to Excel in the early 2000s, so probably at least 15 years.
Carbon doesn't go bad with age, but it does go bad with abuse. So if it hasn't
been used much or dropped hard, I wouldn't worry. Getting new adjustment collars may be a different story.

Piece of electrical tape solves the collar slipping problem.

So does rubber o-rings in the grooves, between the ends of the fingers and the inside of the locking collar
