Google melatonin and blue light.

My computer, my office, my bedroom, its wing of the house, and our nighttime porch light are all devoid of blue light for hours before bedtime. All the nighttime lights anywhere near our bedroom/bathroom are now dim red LEDs, and my computer has f-lux software. If I had trouble going to sleep when I go to bed, I'd add blue-blocker glasses for three hours before bedtime. Even the tiniest, dimmest blue or green LED or clockface -- virtually any non-red light that we can perceive at all -- interferes with many people's sleep.

Check out headspace.com. It's a great way to get started with meditation. It's the best way I know to end the day and get a good night sleep and the best way to start the day. If you're seeking peace in your life this is a good way to find it. Just my 2 cents worth.
