I was driving north on 101 today and saw somebody windsurfing Richardson Bay. First time I'd seen that this summer. Anybody have experience sailing there? |

Maybe 15 years ago I sailed in the small bay west of 101 behind car dealers, etc. Not good at least that time, unless you are beginner with big gear. Safe and flat water, needless to say. |

I lived in a houseboat, gate 6, long long time ago. the houseboats were dumping raw sewage into that picturesque bay. |

Actually a few launch's to sail that bay.
We used to sail W of the 101 overpass, more in late Sept-Oct., when fog winds blew through Tennesse Valley to hit there.
Also Strawberry Point, E of the 101 overpass.
Sometimes we'd launch pass Harbor Point, a park there.
Lots of guys who lived in Belvedere/Tiburon launched at Belevedere, the right off the main road, maybe San Rafael Ave.???
All needs fog to end in Tennesse Valley, causing wind to rip past that old restaurant...Buckeye?.... and you get wind at all those spots. |
