For my friends and acquaintances in the Gorge, and other residents of this great planet, Here’s a video I put together from a fun day in the Gorge, Saturday 8-12-2017. Nothing crazy here, I am just another hacker on the river.
This stuff is so much fun, I can’t believe more people don’t join us out there!
Yes, it is hard, the forecast can be wrong, it takes forever to learn, it is a long drive from Seattle and everywhere else – but it is such a blast! No motor needed, you and the river or ocean. When the gear, body, and nature are in synch, it is totally magical. I am so happy I get to do this.

Thank you for the images of the swell Doug! Truely, smiles on faces. Magic. Always a good day to see you on the water. |

Especially given limited wind in SEA. I'm sailing 2-3 days per week for 3 months in bay area before my annual Gorge pilgrimage in July. Makes it a lot easier to get those "mojo" moments you're describing.
Ah, the synchronicity of wind, water, swell, current, rig, and technique. When it all comes together, |
