Planning my annual trip to Lake Champlain for Sunday. Forecast 25-35 gusts to 45 in the afternoon. Scrubbed my planned trip to the Jersey shore Thursday when I saw the forecast for the Inland Sea. Looks like VT shore due to SSW wind direction.

Lake "waves" at Cumberland State Park (serious shore break). Side shore rollers at the Straights (aka Rocky Beach). These two launches are both on Cumberland Bay, Plattsburgh NY and are with a couple of miles of each other

Think this was just a precursor to Sunday. Where did you go?

Oh yeah, I am pumped for this one! Should be free by 11, not sure where I'm headed yet. If it's still south Plattsburgh should be really good... But if it goes SW, the VT side will be better. Whites I guess?
Has anyone decided where they are headed yet?

Just keep an eye on the Plattsburgh meter. If it's blowing over 25 you'll want to go there even if you are already sailing the VT side (it will take about 40 minutes if you are in the islands). In the event the forecast materializes, you'll want real small stuff. It has the potential to be a legendary day.

Awesome, it is cooking already with 25-30 on the meters. Drive carefully on South Hero- there is a marathon running right past White's this morning, but as far as I know all of the roads are still open.
Like Asiat said- it is a really easy trip over to Plattsburgh if you change your mind or if White's doesn't look that good for some reason. It's just 5 or 10 minutes to the ferry, and the ferry only takes about 25 or 30. There will probably be a TON of people sailing at the Rocks today, always fun to join the crowd!
Hope to see you somewhere along the line...
