Ended up sailing in the Little Narragansett Bay as it was hard to assess the conditions at Matunuck enroute as the Surfline webcam was fogged up early in the morning.

Sailed the Fanatic New Wave with the 3.5. Got about 3.5 hours on the water before the wind shifted to WNW and started to drop. At that point I decided to pack up and go home. Pondered sailing over on in the ocean at Westerly, which was as rough as I have ever seen it. The break over at the Sugar and Watch Hill reefs were incredible.

Here is my GPS trace.

For me, today's epic conditions at Kalmus has broken my many month silence --

My scrawny a$$ was more than powered with a 3.7. A good tide and the WSW direction made it fantastic.

Not all, but many of the rank and file were present and at full attention!

No, I am not sure what that is, believe it is a glitch in the logging software. You can see that i sail up for one more tack and was then clear to sail across towards Westerly. You can definitely see how the wind made sudden changes in direction.

Sunday Monday Tuesday were a good three days in Rhode Island. I worked on Monday, but Sunday and Tuesday AM were 20-25 winds. Nuked Tuesday afternoon. 30-35 when I sailed and later some 35-40. Water was a tan chalky color. I put up some pics:

People were sailing at the Barn Island Boat Ramp at the end of Palmer Neck Rd in Stonington. The speed sailors got some personal bests today in the lee of Sandy Point, a small sand bar island between Watch Hill (Napatree) Rhode Island and Stonington CT.

Thanks. Maybe see you there sometime.
