Here's mine on Ebay. Could put it anywhere from mast foot to below boom, might need shimming for firm fit on RDM.

If you have a modern short board its the mast that hits
the board not the boom unless you have unusual dimensions
or like your boom at belly button height.

Sounds like a mast pad might be the way to go. I'll see if I can find one. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
