Wrong. Under the Hyde amendment, Federal money cannot be used for abortion. From the Kaiser website, one click:
Quote: | Soon after the Court’s ruling, Congress enacted the Hyde Amendment which blocks federal funds from being used to pay for abortion outside of the exceptions for rape, incest, or if the pregnancy is determined to endanger the woman’s life. Since its passage 40 years ago, the law has dramatically limited coverage of abortion under Medicaid, as well as other federal programs. The amendment was sponsored and supported by legislators who opposed abortion and, in particular, objected to the federal government’s use of taxpayer money for abortion services. The policy was not passed as a permanent law, but rather was attached as a temporary “rider” to the Congressional appropriations bill for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Since then, the Hyde Amendment has been renewed annually by Congress. |
That is why the quote by the Oklahoma legislator is so chilling, he seeks to force women who have been raped to carry the baby to term.
Planned Parenthood provides the bulk of contraceptive services, and without federal funding, abortion. Attacking them means, de facto, blocking access to abortion and contraception in many, perhaps most, cases. |

In a lot of places, women on Medicaid cannot find OBGYN docs. PP provides full services not just contraceptives.
They also provide STD testing. |

OK, what I looked at didn't give the whole story. But Medicaid does pay for some abortions.

Then one would assume that many Planned Parenthood clinics are in areas where healthcare (OBGYN) is not readably accessible - rural? I am thinking most are in urban areas, but I don't have any info to back that up. I am not opposed to PP, just thinking that since only 3 million utilize their services, it's not as big a deal as portrayed. |

Two of my friends are OBGYNS. They will accept Medicaid pregnancies; but limit other services to medicaid insured because the provider payments are dismal. So, even in cities there are shortages of physicians to treat poor women. PP has a model of nurse practitioners and part time docs and they provide a lot of services. |

If you've ever seen an ultrasound, then held a newborn baby, you realize they're just as human as they were 5 months ago. Still don't know how you could kill your own baby. |

Come on Malibu you know it's a woman's right to murder her baby. |

They're humans when they are denied healthcare coverage too. I still don't know how you can support laws that would do do this.
I support PP because access to birth control reduces the number of abortions. |

Murder is murder...All those who would deny a woman the right to choose are also against the death penalty. Right?
Matt-ty...MG? You are against the death penalty? |

I've stated many times here that I'm against the death penalty. A guy was just released her in California after serving 37 years for a murder he didn't commit.
I believe that prosecutors should be executed if they prosecute a case that results in someones false execution. That'll eliminate most of it. |
