I'm looking for a sail around 7.0m and have narrowed it down to these two. Can anyone tell me the difference between these two sails? For an intermediate level sailor, general purpose sail (mowing the lawn in chop and some ocean sailing with small waves) which would be better? |

I'm a Ezzy guys but friends ride the sails in question.
Both are great sails. In the larger 7.0 ish sail you might consider the the stability of the extra batten. If you mostly freeriding then go with the Phantom. My friends blast on them. If your thinking mostly waves or freestyle than go with the Airx. Call your shop and get their input... |

either phantom or airx are great for waves.
put SDM's in them and they both free ride and blast around really well. SD Masts add extra stability for the ability to push these sails for higher wind ranges and speeds.
put RDM's in them and they adapt well to waves.
airx has this amazing ability to accept a very wide variety of masts..... a bit more technical to tune it for the ultimate performances. kinda ironic, since it is also the affordable sail to boot.
phantoms, just down haul them hard and use very little out haul, and away you go! airx always seems to have a need for more out haul tension by comparison. _________________ www.aerotechsails.com

Thanks. Now that I've decided on a sail (AirX) I'm told it's out of stock for at least a couple weeks. Bummers. |
