In October I rented STB FreeWave 95 on Maui. Stock fins was kind of OK for me, but I had to be very light on back foot. _________________ Andrew

What board is this?
If it’s designed to work with a small center and larger sides, that is called a trailing tri fin. The sides in that case need to be more inboard than a typical tri. _________________ K4 fins

BTW: I have Fanatic Freewave 95 with thruster fin setup and stock fins (20 center and 10 sides) works great for me so far. |
I have Fanatic Stubby wave 99 L which comes with Choco 18 cm center and 12 cm sides. Works great with a 6.3. I'm 82 kg. But the Stubby has channels in the tail which probably mean it needs a smaller fin set than a board without the channels. |

I am very happy with MUF X-Wave, except for one issue.
They had/have a US Box system with the fin tab cut out to allow quick fitting.
However, my Quatro Cube has a "short" US Box and it was impossible to get the fin to fit into the box as the extended fin tab was a few mm too long. I had to cut the fin tab and drill a new hole. I sent them a blistering e-mail - they ***never** responded. They seem pretty disorganized as opposed to Black Project - Chris responds directly in seconds to any questions you have. |

My board has slot box for center fin, so having too long base not supposed to be issue. I used to have "too long base" issue before with my old Fanatic Goya Wave board: bought weed fin and it doesn't fit into fin box. Fin box was too short. _________________ Andrew

Fin base length do vary. Slot box length does as well, the original length was 13cm, their are shorter ones out now, Makani FINS had some bases that were too long for some of my boxes.
The buyer should research .
One size does not fit all. |

Slot box much easier on this matter - if fin base too long, just take saw and cut it. _________________ Andrew
