Kind of foolish launching such a high tech vessel designed for a different environment at the height of winter. Leave it the Trump Administration to plan and orchestrate such a boondoggle. |
Actually it was caused by a historical cold snap, I lived through it.. |

So Malibu—is it you or Matty that’s going to send the scientists to the ovens? Before or after you send the FBI agents that didn’t vote for Trump?
Fascism in America. Any lie to support agent Orange. |

The good news about science is whether you believe it or not, it's true. |

Science
A new NASA study says that an increase in Antarctic snow accumulation that began 10,000 years ago is currently adding enough ice to the continent to outweigh the increased losses from its thinning glaciers.
The research challenges the conclusions of other studies, including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) 2013 report, which says that Antarctica is overall losing land ice.
According to the new analysis of satellite data, the Antarctic ice sheet showed a net gain of 112 billion tons of ice a year from 1992 to 2001. That net gain slowed to 82 billion tons of ice per year between 2003 and 2008. |

Science includes citations and peer review. Clearly you don’t care about Either of those things. But somebody ginned you up, you are far too lazy and stupid to have done any research.

How foolish was it for Donald Trump to walk back a broad base of standards that challenged energy producers to move into a more viable and sustainable future while improving emissions controls and our environment overall. To retract our commitment to the Paris Accords was infinitely stupid in preparing America for the future. Innovation and technological development is the key to opening the doors for America to stay on top.
The idea that rolling back regulations and allowing corporations the opportunity to greedily strip our nation for profit without reasonable constraints and regulations is ludicrous and irresponsible. With the corporate windfall offered by the passage of the Republican tax bill, it would be unconscionable not to demand stricter requirements that would focus on a better environment and a more sustainable future. |
The Paris Accords was an AWFUL deal for America. Thank god we have a president that puts Americas interest first, NOT THE LIBERAL GLOBAL AGENDA.
Energy independence is now a reality thanks to President Trump. |
You are a horses arse if you believe that, energy production increases were years in the making, not the last twelve months. |

An intriguing comment concerning NASA's research into the 'Antarctic Mantle Plume' beneath Marie Byrd Land. Quote "It would have been formed 50 million to 110 million years ago, LONG BEFORE the ice sheet itself came into being."
That's a large chunk of time (60 million years) spanning Cretaceous to Paleocene ages. The standard geological wisdom has always been that the Earth's climate over that range of time was tropical, with cooling only taking place over the last 50 million years or so. (Including the Ice Age.)
Which brings me to one of my 'pet points', namely that , how do we know there were any ice caps at all over that huge range of time? And if not, isn't that state more the norm of our Earth's climate, whether from atmospheric composition including natural polluting forces, or just from our Goldilocks position from the sun? (Say's this Winter long windsurfer, who is increasingly feeling the cold!! ) |

Malibu, as usual, won't give his source. Not surprisingly, the study is taken out of context by deniers. Here's what the author predicted:
Quote: | A new NASA study found that there has been a net increase in land ice in Antarctica in recent years, despite a decline in some parts of the continent. The study's lead author astutely predicted that climate science deniers would distort the study, even though it does nothing to contradict the scientific consensus on climate change or the fact that sea levels will continue to rise. |

The sea levels will continue to rise even with long term global cooling, but we never hear that because it doesn't fit the template. |
