The polls for 2016 were within the actual margin of error—Hillary won the popular vote by about the amount predicted. Trump at that time did not have the -21 point favorable to unfavorable rating that he has now. His electoral college win was by a total of 80,000 votes—most of it in states where Republicans—and Russian bots—had supressed voting by people of color.

Malibu, NW and Matty, following their inability to actually do well in the educational system, have contempt for knowledge and things like statistics. Gallup and most others use random polling. Rasmussen and Daily Caller use skewed sampling. Thus their inaccuracy. I doubt the three wing nuts even know why that matters. Carry on, ignore the special elections—and the pages of support for Manafort’s money laundering. When he flips it is all over.

More on the overall approach. For those actually interested in what the Trump phenomenon means below the rallies and tweets, I urge you to read Frum's book, "Trumpocracy." Frum is a conservative Republican with ethics, and was an insider in the Bush administration. He understands the foreign policy and economic implications of America first; issues that have gone over the head of folks like Bard, who loved Trump when they thought he was an isolationist, and stay with him when he turns out to be a foolish hawk.

This is all about the money. Trump is a small-time wanna be oligarch doing the bidding of big time oligarch's on the national stage. As Frum says, he can be easily manipulated but cannot be reasoned with. His ties to Russia are deep and long standing. Manafort is a key tie. If you read the indictment, which is available on assets.documentcloud.org, you will see that multiple limited liability corporations based in Cyprus were used to launder the money. The Cyorus and Russian connections run throughout Trum's dealings, and those of his cabinet. Ross is tied to money-laundering banks in Cyprus, and to assets that he didn't reveal in his confirmation hearings. The connection to Russian oligarch's, who are in turn tied to Putin, is only part of a larger international effort that involves getting money out of Russia (hard to do because Putin is watching and wants his share), and hiding assets from all governments--ie tax fraud.

To drill down a bit on Ross, he is a major shareholder in a shipping firm, Navigator, which in turn relies on the Moscow-based gas and petrochemical company Sibur. That company's owners include Kirill Shamalov (married to Putin's youngest daughter) and Gennady Timcheno, the energy sector oligarch who has been sanctioned by the US and is directly linked to Putin. But the largest owner is Leonid Mikhelson, who controls an energy company that was also sanctioned by the Treasury Department.

The agenda, from day one, is to roll back sanctions and allow energy transactions without constraint by nationality, sanctions for bribery, or environmental regulation. The roll back of treaties--by folks who manufacture their goods and invest their money overseas, and make money in shipping--is not about American jobs. It is about avoiding the rather weak sanctions on corruption and environmental protection in those treaties. That's where the big boys make their money, little Donnie and his son and son-in-law are allowed their schemes of selling American immigration permission along with real estate, but that is just their pay-off by the big boys.

Ross, of course, also hides his holdings in partnerships in the Cayman's. Funny how the alligators were put in charge of draining the swamp eh? The richest cabinet in history, by far, stocked with oligarch's who are working with oligarch's in other countries. And have buffaloed the angry right that this is about American jobs.

So here are the numbers. The Koch Brothers spent $20 million supporting the tax bill. The payoff? They save $1.4 Billion a year in taxes—plus who knows how much from Pruitt’s mischief. Immediately after the bill passed, they kicked in $500,000 to Paul Ryan and $250,000 to Republicans. Legal? Probably, thanks to the Bush court. Ethical? Not a bit.
