After a really crappy March, we've been having an awesome April !
Wind and waves every day, it feels amazing, everyone is stoked!

Here is a vid from last weekend's event:

yeah - march was pretty sucky...

out of 7 or 8 possible sailing days.., i only sailed 2 - 6.2 one afternoon for about 2 hours.., and 5.8 one day.., for pretty much the whole day.

in 20 years of going to cabarete pretty much every year.., this was probably the least sailing i have done on a trip.

I heard bonaire was shut down for a while with sargassum weed.., so at least we didn't have that...

I wish there were more places to go with good gear in the caribbean - other than cabarete, my favorite is St Lucia - a nice launch on an undeveloped beach, and generally pretty breezy, but there are no nice accommodations near that beach. no waves either...

Oh yeah we had lots of weed, especially during that storm chase day!!!
But they tend to stay out of the waves, so if one is comfortable sailing there Smile it's fine.

Yes, it was at Encuentro. Just reef so always crystal clear waters but entry/exit can be a bit tricky. There's sand downwind, I might do that next time, although I didn't step on any urchins, it's not super friendly and I fell off my water struggling to get in and out! However, it makes for much more productive sessions, wow!
