Good Day at Natural Bridges today. Humpback Whale breaching. As much as 2/3 of the body in the air before slamming back down to the surface. Calf with her. Breach was just to the east of the black circle with white dot at the center. Saw her and the calf at the other side of the channel (to the west of the circle-dot) and it looked like a great white shark fin, but I think she was on her side, possibly nursing and it was really one tip of her tail protruding above the water surface.
One other windsurfer came out. He was on a 115 liter Naish? with 5.8 sail and I was on a Naish Titan 135 liter with 5.8 Ezzy.
I was trying speed runs along the edge of the kelp. Fastest was 27.5 mph.

Perfect day in Berkeley, but the iW sensor seems to be reading low.
At "21" I was slightly overpowered on my 5.5/86 liters. 5.0 would have been the right call. This is a change from last season.

Great Day at Pleasure Point on the Angulo and Ezzy 7.0. Perfect for the first half of the session. Second half I should have had my 4.7. It was blowing over twenty knots. Too lazy to re-rig, so called it a day.

Windward did you launch at pleasure point or sea bright the
way you usually do . I can't see the park in that picture.

Hi Charles,
Happened to luck out and get a parking spot by O'Neill's house so rigged in the grass there and launched on the west side of his house.
It was great to get a session in at Pleasure Point without having to work so hard tacking up to the point from New Brighton. Although sometimes that is half the fun.

Had another good windsurfing day. Launched at New Brighton. Angulo 10'-2" and Ezzy 7.0. Caught a good wave ride at Bombora and several at Toes Over. Sailed on up to Privates. Wind was too blocked. Sailed outside as a boat was headed in. It was the O'neill Catamaran. Sailed by her and then into inside the kelp at 38th. Rode some waves there. The better waves were at The Point, but I could see they were holding surfing contest there, and not having been invited, I steered clear. Wind was gusting to twenty knots, so I was getting worked. Decided to head back on the outside as it looked sketchy trying to sail downwind at The Hook and squeeze between surfers, kelp and surf when the wind was gusting so. Saw a kiter was out off of Capitola. Blue and Red kite. Someone told me later as I was de-rigging that they thought the kiter had kited up from Watsonville. That would be a new one. If he came that way, I am thinking more like La Selva Beach. But I guess it could have been Sunset or even further south. They achieve pretty good angle to the wind. And here I thought I was the only one willing to put the effort in to go windward.

Sailing starting up here. Washoe is totally full (about 17 feet deep), as is Lahontan. Last year had both full but the worst wind year anyone can remember. Nobody sailing Tahoe but heard of a few kiters there.

Good day at Natural Bridges. Blowing over twenty. Four folk out. Naishs, Fanatic and Exocet. Two Ezzys. Both 5.8, I think. Two Hot Sails Maui KS3s at 5.5. ( I noticed the S-curve of the bottom batten that is a subject of another thread in this Forum elsewhere.) I had many speed runs in the mid twenties. Highest was 28 mph. Also some fun swell to play on. Saw a whale spout before going out, but did not see any while out.
