Old Chinook boom. Why in the world does it have markings in inches and millimeters(?).

DaKine Harness lines are marked in inches, True Ames Fins ..inches and cm.
It a good question to ponder, an expert on all things will be along shortly.

I'm guessing Chinook was trying to appeal to sailors whose sail's give boom lengths in cm and to those whose sails give boom lengths in feet & inches.
