mat-ty, I'm afraid you missed the message of my last post, and you tried to make it something else more to your liking.

Why am I not surprised?

You should read the decision made by the Supreme Court. Again, it was about how the lower Colorado court considered their decision. That's a bit different than about whether the baker was free to discriminate.

Kennedy saw the lower courts bias against the bakers religious RIGHTS. That's why they voted in his favor.....he has rights also.

Jim Jordan's Former Boss Admits He Was Aware of Sexual Abuse

Quote:
A recently released video reveals that former head coach of the Ohio State University Wrestling team Russ Hellickson knew that Dr. Richard Strauss was sexually abusing wrestlers. Hellickson’s statements were filmed before allegations arose claiming that congressman Jim Jordan knew of the sexual abuse and failed to stop it. More importantly, the video was filmed before Jordan denied these allegations.

Following the multiple allegations against Jordan, he received support from former OSU wrestlers and coaches, Trump, the conservative House Freedom Caucus and even Hellickson himself. Hellickson was one of the multiple coaches and wrestlers who signed an open letter defending Jordan. In the statement, the group said, “None of us saw or heard of abuse of OSU wrestlers. The well-being of student-athletes was all of our concern. If we had heard of any abuse, we would have spoken up.”

However, in a video shown to CNN and other news outlets, but not released to the public, Hellickson admits that he did know about the sexual misconduct and confronted Strauss about it. The video was released by former OSU wrestler Mike DiSabato’s company, Combat Athlete Coalition. The coalition works to represent former college athletes in matters that involve safety issues and compensation. DiSabato said he sent the video to show university officials firsthand accounts of the abuse. Hellickson’s newly revealed statements completely contradict Jordan’s previous denials of the allegations.
In the video, Hellickson doesn’t specify whether the wrestlers told him about the abuse. However, he reveals that Strauss used to shower at the same time as wrestlers, often lingering long enough to make them “uncomfortable.” He also said Strauss fondled the wrestles during weigh-ins. He went on to discuss confronting Strauss, recalling, “I told him one time, I said, ‘Doctor you’re much too hands on,’ and he just said, ‘Oh, I’m being thorough.’” When Hellickson attempted to confront Strauss about the shower situation, Strauss pointed out that Hellickson also showered with the wrestlers. Hellickson responded, “Yeah. Not for an hour, doc.”

As I've stated earlier, as far as the DNC is concerned it's "leftward hoe!".

"The problem is with the democrats of today, they've been evolving, they are nothing like they used to be when it comes to socialism, too much doesn't seems to be not enough. Which is why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez easily won her race, and Bernie Sanders is so popular. The party is moving farther left as time goes by.
Pure socialism is a failure every time it's tried, and one thing I've heard many times is that it's because the wrong people were trying it,,,,,,,,,, please, the general public is not as ignorant as the dems would like to believe, and count on it for their success in a hard left direction."

Now here is some more evidence, and a split party will not lead to a "blue wave".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
California Democratic Party endorses De León for Senate, in rebuke for Feinstein 7-14-18
OAKLAND — The California Democratic Party handed Sen. Dianne Feinstein a striking rejection after more than two and a half decades in office on Saturday, as party leaders endorsed her progressive challenger Kevin de León.
The endorsement gives De León a big morale boost as he faces an uphill race against the powerful incumbent, and underscores how Golden State Democrats have shifted to the left in the age of Trump.
De León, a state senator from Los Angeles and the former leader of the State Senate, won 65 percent of the 333 delegates on the party’s executive board, who are meeting this weekend in Oakland. Feinstein, one of California’s most recognizable political figures, netted just seven percent after urging her supporters to choose no endorsement “in the name of party unity.”
De León appealed to the party faithful by blasting President Trump and embracing policies like single-payer health care and abolishing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. He also tapped into discontent with Feinstein among the party’s left flank.
De León’s endorsement coup echoes other wins for progressives around the country in recent weeks, including New York candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who electrified liberals by defeating the number-four Democrat in the House of Representatives last month.
The Democrats walking the halls in Oakland were fired up over Trump and optimistic about their chances to take back the House in November. The most popular figure here was Rep. Maxine Waters, who’s been attacked by the president after encouraging protests against him and his staffers. She won huge cheers and a long line of fans hoping to snap selfies as she declared Saturday that Trump was “embarrassing us every day.”
The Senate race remained the biggest point of contention, splitting Democrats over questions of liberal bona fides and generational leadership.
Forthe complete story~
Not sure who NW is quoting here:
but he seems to have missed both a sense of history and of irony. He missed the history of Obama's election, which stimulated the very far right to come up with the Tea Party. That jerked the GOP so far to the right that it is now controlled by the white nationalist and evangelicals. Polite discourse disappeared--along with moderate Republicans. Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck trotted out red meat, and thoughtful arguments disappeared behind placards depicting Obama and his wife as apes, and epithets like "libertard", and compromise was strangled by the Freedom Caucus.
Having the Democratic party taken over by an uncompromising far left would be equally destabilizing to real politics, which is the hard work required to arrive at a middle ground that can be supported by a larger majority than Trump's minority. But I am unconvinced that is happening, and if the win of Ocasio-Cortez is NW's best evidence, it is a weak case. Feinstein is a moderate, and I have often joked she is the only Republican I've ever voted for. She will win in California by a huge margin.
Those who fail to study history also fail to remember the anti-immigrant campaign of Pete Wilson, who supported Proposition 187 in 1994, which used the slogan "they keep coming" to demonize immigrants. That demonization destroyed the GOP brand in California. I've seen this movie before. In abandoning their commitment to fiscal responsibility and intelligent governance, the national GOP has sacrificed its birthright for a mess of pottage.
Bullshit, he was referring to illegal immigrants, no matter how hard you try to change the language, it ain't going to work, with the exception of liberal fools.
Uh, village idiot, the California economy is the 5th largest in the world. It has a budget surplus—unlike the US budget, which has been destroyed by Republicans. You must be thinking of Oklahoma, which has cut taxes and pretty much destroyed the state. Spoiler elert—you have to be able to read and count to be able to tell the difference. http://www.businessinsider.com/california-economy-ranks-5th-in-the-world-beating-the-uk-2018-5
Of course, in California I’m nearing 90 days on the Bay.
Thanks for proving my point so well - Check who makes the most posts on the forum, then check the lead in to almost every single one of those posts. Then there is the runner up poster who peppers his comments regularly. Then get back to us on who those culprits are, and how hate filled their posts sound.
How about spell, do you have to be able to do that?
