San Diego has light wind but the occational winter storm brings good wind to the region. Summer wind is more consistant best for kiting (wind is usually under 20kt). Mission Bay, J Street in South San Diego Bay, and Tourmaline surf park and Northern Baja has some good surf sailing. A good sail shops in San Diego is Windsport on Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach. Feel free to email me with any other questions about San Diego windsurfing bketcham@chapman.edu

You might want to check out the San Diego Windsurf assn. web site. www.sdwa.org
Lots of info on sailing sites. Not much wind here, though. If a winter storm hits, South Bay at J Street is the best. Otherwise, everyone sails BIG sails or travels to find wind.
