here is the same plane flying with mountain bikes. Flying with those has mimimal effect on flying performance.

The pilot who is also an engineer and built the plane is building the racks for surf gear. He will also do the testing, and the work just started. He might build sort of a hood in front to prevent the board from catching wind. IŽll post here when all is set.

another thing....that is not a very fast plane built to go into tight areas on rough terrain.....just look at those tundra tires on it. i wouldn't be concerned about drag.....i would be more concerned with wether or not the board is still there when you land.... Shocked one more thing...thos tires may kick up some stones or rocks(even on a paved runway)...they could ding the board. I took off from bahams once on paved runway....a seashell got kicked up into one of the engines... dinged up quite a few fan blades.

Looks like great fun. My only caution would be: loosen or take out the vent screw. The only person I personally know who delaminated a board by not loosening the vent screw did so while flying with his shortboard inside his single engine plane.

IŽll keep that in mind delcarpenter

here is a short video of the plane doing a short strip landing with mountainbikes and no head wind.
