Two East Coast Windsurfing Festivals are coming up soon: the 6th ECWF Cape Cod on September 15-16, and the ECWF Hatteras on October 20-27. There will be demo gear at both events, and a foil clinic and foil demo gear at the ECWF Cape Cod. For more details and registration links, check http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2018/08/ecwf-cape-cod-and-hatteras.html.

I'll be busy running the event in Hyannis, but I'm very excited to compete in an ECWF organized by Mike Burns again! Great to have a fall event on Hatteras. Race days are nestled between the 5-day ABK camp and the 3-day ABK camp on Hatteras - for those who want to brush up before the ECWF, and for those who are motivated to improve after the festival Smile.

The wind forecast for this weekend is rather poor, with 4-10 mph winds from Friday through Monday. Therefore, we are considering to move the ECWF Cape Cod back by one week, to the 22nd and 23rd.

We'd love to hear feedback from anyone who is planning to participate about using the second weekend. There's a poll on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/capecodwindsurfers/, or just reply here.

With a dismal wind forecast for this weekend, we have moved the ECWF Cape Cod to September 22-23. More details at https://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2018/09/ecwf-cape-cod-now-september-22-23.html

Breaking news: top PWA slalom sailor Marco Lang will be at the ECWF Cape Cod! Marco finished the 2017 PWA as 7th overall, and won the slalom in Sylt. He's also a great freestyler!

If you want to help paying for Marco's ticket, there's a fund raiser at https://www.gofundme.com/marco-lang-at-the-ecwf-cape-cod.

Online registration for the ECWF Cape Cod will close Thursday 10 am. With tons of wind in the forecast and the party at Inland Sea in the evening, Friday will be too busy to deal with new registrations. On-site registration will be available, but cost $10 more ($30 instead of $20 for the online registration).

We expect that some of the demo gear will be available at Kalmus on Friday - it should be a great day to test some of the smaller Fanatic boards and Duotone sails!
