So, it is enough that Donald Trump will make America great again? Or maybe, Senator Cruz is anti-establishment enough to change everything for the better?

Why would anyone foolishly believe that either of these questionable characters can offer a more vibrant future for the middle class in America?

Cruz and Clinton are sucking at the teat of Golman Sachs. Bernie will destroy America with Socialism. Trump may be the only one who actually kills the special interests and makes government more efficient. I say MAYBE.

Do you actually think that the Republican establishment sent Romney after Trump because they were worried that he is a too crass? Or do you think he might expose the corruption in Washington? Trump is the most dangerous thing to hit the power elite in Washington since Washington.

While I'm hardly a Mitt Romney supporter, I have to wholeheartedly agree with him that Donald Trump lacks the character, integrity and the necessary discretion to be our president. Moreover, the goofy idea that the Donald is a kick-ass kind of character that will turn things around in Washington and the world is just nonsense. The guy is a total joke. I can see why the Republican party fears where Trump could take them.

New deficit numbers shred Republican talking points on tax breaks
09/12/18 08:00 AM—UPDATED 09/12/18 10:03 AM
By Steve Benen
Quote:
It’s been a few months since Larry Kudlow, the director of the Trump White House’s National Economic Council, boasted that the U.S. budget deficit “is coming down, and it’s coming down rapidly.” This was, as regular readers know, spectacularly wrong. Though the deficit shrank during Barack Obama’s presidency, it’s grown considerably larger since Donald Trump took office.

How much larger? Thanks in large part to Republican tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations, the latest tallies are jaw-dropping.

The U.S. budget deficit is reaching levels that are abnormally high for a robust economy, and lawmakers from both parties are proposing ideas that would make the deficit swell even further.

The government spent $895 billion more than it brought in from taxes and other revenue sources during the past 11 months, the Congressional Budget Office said this week, a 33 percent increase from one year before.

As the Washington Post’s report on this makes clear, the last time the unemployment rate was as low as it is now, the deficit literally did not exist – it was 2000, the end of the Clinton presidency, and the federal government ran a surplus – which stands in stark contrast to the fiscal landscape Americans currently see

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-boasts-economy-data-show-222359780.html

As Trump Boasts About Economy, New Data Show Poverty Rate Virtually Unchanged

Quote:
The data also revealed that, although household income has improved overall for Americans, the situation for America’s poor has remained unchanged.

The nation’s official poverty rate dipped only slightly in 2017, from 12.7 percent of Americans living in poverty in 2016 to 12.3 percent in 2017, a drop of just 0.4 percentage point. The number of people in poverty was “not statistically different” from 2016, according to the government, with 39.7 million Americans still living below the poverty line.

And the “supplemental poverty measure,” which some experts call a more accurate statistic because it factors in noncash benefits such as food stamps, was unchanged compared with the previous year.

This stagnation came after several years of significant declines in the poverty rate: Since 2014, it has fallen 2.5 percentage points, from 14.8 percent to 12.3 percent.

An interesting take. Current corporate debt levels have tripled over the past ten years. Between that and artificially inflated stock prices, it smells like another bubble. But not to worry, captain bone spurs and his corrupt cabinet will take care of the economy—with all the insight and calmness of a ten year old.
