Andrew,
Yes, I attached the Slingshot foil to the rear footstrap with a formuline line.., only because the Firemove is not a dedicated foil board.

i think that you would have to put the Tuttle box alot more forward to get the box depth
Also make sure you can find a Deep Tuttle....they have been sold out for a bit now at Fiberglass Supply |

PB boards, consider two safety lines, one looped to each strap, or in single rear cases, to a set of not used footstrap screws. Powerplate spreads the load and saves the box. |

Had my first foiling experience last Friday in an ABK clinic. I weigh 160lbs. Winds were 6 gusting to 12. I had a 6.2 sail on a Slingshot Wizard 125 (I don't remember the foil) I was able to get the board up and foiling in the gusts...my longest runs were 7-8 seconds. About half I crashed out of, the other half I landed planing or semiplaning the board. The good guys were foiling on 5.4ish sails (also pumping up to flight in the gusts.)

Foil tip of the day:
Clew first waterstart feels much safer as it drags your rear foot away from the foil so you don't kick near it
waterstarting...i think you can have just that amount of sail available but not much more! |

Will try the clew first WS.
Andy Brandt says if you can waterstart easily, your sail is too big.

I don't disagree....
But uphauling sux worse
I think you want it in that hot/crazy matrix...have had a unicorn foil sesh or two...
just enough to waterstart AND lift at a gust in the start of a run
Have fun...it IS addictive.....
And carrying the foil to the water is SO therapeutic if you are a Christian !
Overpowered is easy...holding the sail is like carrying wet trash out to the bin...you just hold it awkwardly away from your body! |

That makes sense. Been overpowered on the foil and have had to keep it on the water to stay in control. When it has been like this, it is easy to waterstart.
It also seems that a lot of times the wind fills in as soon as I am out on the foil
Then the choice is rig down or go windsurfing. |

Is it just me or is it REALLY tough to windsurf immediately after I've been foiling and the wind picks up. It just feels strange, my legs cramp and my body feels out of whack. Anyone else have this?
