I hit a rock fully powered up and blew out a rear Slot Box fin box. Destroyed the front screw tab and cracked the bottom of the box at the rear screw. The box needs to be replaced, does anyone know where I can source a replacement? Thanks.

The original post : blew out , cracked the bottom of the box.
Seeking a replacement box. It mentions tape, never as a temp repair.

Tape was remarked by several others, as why even put JB weld on it , tape it.

Band aid on cancer is what I see.

Another discussion is that I dont have box blanks and will the tape hold over them . Since this is a no harm no foul event , nothing can go wrong except the tape not sticking , go for it, or buy the box covers.

Most sizes available from K4.

Oh yeah for sure. not advocating just tape as a temporary permanent repair for this board. sometimes you need materials to make easy, temporary, in the field repairs. Just saying that I've used that high quality foil tape on certain dings, and it has worked incredibly well. YMMV. If I were totally desperate to get back on the water that same day (like if I were in PSC for a short trip and it was firing), I would prep the area and take a chance w/ that tape over the broken box and check it every run.

I've seen some horrendous "fixes" people do to broken slot boxes. Luckily the OP can seal off the broken box and sail the board in a different fin configuration until he can replace the broken box. If that were my board, and I wanted to sail it, I would probably just fill the broken box with epoxy and fairing material assuming the lateral integrity of the box is not compromised.

What would you do as a temporary holdover solution?

Using his description , that doesnt fall into a temporary repair, in the book that I read. I would probably not have epoxy at my fingertips, and it takes some time to cure. You could fill the entire box with 8lb pour foam, its waterproof, light and sets quickly , provided you have it handy. Cut the excess off, and use the Amazing tape to cover the area as a additional step, I would not have it, but insulation tape ,Tyvek I would.
So that position to break box, to run off they water and fix it and go back out is not in my vocabulary.

I would have the option of using another board of close size.

Or Coronas and a beach chair .

Bottom some fairly cheap metallic tape, I use on my camper roof.
Gorilla duct tape.
Tyvek tape, great for sail repair , good for many things, not cheap.
Top is sail repair tape, notice the reinforced strands.

Probably a point to this , oh yea I know what tape is
