They are crazy idiots to put25,000 new resident at Treasure Island. Hard to find a stupider example of urban planning. |

Maybe, but wrong battle, that board has already sailed.
The new problem is the toll to T.I.. |

Be calm. This is not a done deal. There are lots of agencies that would have to approve this—and at least one of them was established to improve public access. SFBA will work on this, as they have on the access plan for TI. |

For the current residents the toll is unfortunately the least of their concerns: they will be simply evicted from the current housings and will not be able to afford the luxury buildings that are going to be built. Think China Basin on Steroids as a model of development.
For "us"? We simply will not be able to drive and windsurf there. I already cannot do so during the week unless I go through a maddening grid lock. With an additional 25,000 residents it would be equivalent to try to sail in downtown San Francisco at rush hour.

Thanks Rip. I signed as should every windsurfer (and kiter) regardless of any intention to be an island resident. |

Who knows, in addition to the toll charges both ways, they might add pay parking too. How does $2.00 an hour sound?
More and more these days folks really want to get into your wallet. |
