Their website says they don't take a windsurfer, but do take surfboards (2 boards in a bag for $100 each way, which the website says covers overweight and oversize fees).
My board with a mast, boom and 2 sails is about 42 pounds and not much bigger than a surfboard coffin bag. How strict are they if I say it is a surfboard? |

I don't have a specific answer to this, but I've lied about it and gotten away with it by telling them I had beach umbrellas and other gear in with it.
I'd advise to be cautious about counting on this methodology... |

If it fits the size limits, I say go for it. How many airline employees , know the difference anyway. Breakage for insurance, may prove difficult _________________ K4 fins
