oh ya, lets not forget about this scum representing a serial pedophile. again Ken Starr was making a million dollars a year while investigating Clinton from a backchannel the tobacco lobby was paying his law firm which had never donew tobacco work and suddenly was gifted 10s of millions a year in new business. Geee why...

again Ken Star was a millionaire from that so why does a billionaire defend a McVeigh or the biggest serial pedophile in US history?

again Starr went after Clinton for his and another right winger for what 6 years and not one grand jury indictment of Clintons or any top clinton appointed officials over a 70k land deal he lost money on. and what we have a right wing fbi guy in charge of investigation trump on treason and right wingers covering up investigations and saying it is taking too long, poor victim right wingers...

Ken Starr Is Now the Biggest Fish in the Barrel of Mockery
This, in addition to being one of the least excusable humans of the last half of the 20th century.

Somehow, in the ungodly mess that is the Jeffrey Epstein scandal—and I use ungodly in the fullest sense of the word—I somehow have missed one of the greatest proofs yet that the Deity has a whopping good sense of humor. And it's right there in the latest filings, the one where the judge teed up the federal prosecutors for having broken the law in how they let this monster skate as smoothly as he did. And it's not the fact that one of the law-breaking federal prosecutors is Alexander Acosta, the current Secretary of Labor and now perhaps moving up to being the fourth-worst cabinet official down at Camp Runamuck.

No, it's not that. Seriously. From the Miami Herald:

Acosta, in 2011, would explain that he was unduly pressured by Epstein’s heavy-hitting lawyers—Lefkowitz, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, Jack Goldberger, Roy Black, former U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis, Gerald Lefcourt, and Kenneth Starr, the former Whitewater special prosecutor who investigated Bill Clinton’s sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky.
Is the cosmos jerking my chain? One of Jeffrey Epstein's lawyers was Ken Fcking Starr? The sanctimonious sheet-sniffing yahoo who presented to the Congress a soft-core porn novel in the hopes it would be enough to defenestrate a sitting president, who then went on to a career turning a blind eye to sexual assaults at Baylor University, and who now apparently took up working for a serial sex-maniac predatory pedophile? Oh, my aching pancreas, this is almost too good. In addition to being one of the least excusable humans of the last half of the 20th century, Starr is now the biggest fish in the barrel of mockery, and nobody deserves to be that more than he does.

But how did I not know this? How did I cheat myself of at least six months of delicious schadenfreude?

No question about it. I clearly need to spend more time on the Intertoobz.

Founder of Florida day spa tied to Robert Kraft's prostitution case attended Trump's Super Bowl party, report says

Quote:

The founder of a Florida day spa where New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was busted for allegedly soliciting prostitution watched this year's Super Bowl at a party hosted by President Donald Trump.

Li Yang, 45, snapped a selfie photo with Trump from the Super Bowl watch party, held at the president's West Palm Beach country club, the Miami Herald reported Friday.

Trump, a longtime friend of Kraft and Patriots admirer, is seen leaning back in his chair and smiling with Yang and another woman who are seated at a table behind the president in the blurry photo. They watched New England beat the Los Angeles Rams for the franchise's sixth championship.

Yang, an entrepreneur from China who goes by Cindy, opened a chain of South Florida day spas more than a decade ago that included Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter, Florida, which is now connected to a sex trafficking ring tied to Kraft's case.

Yang told the Miami Herald that she long ago sold Orchids of Asia Day Spa. But her family still owns several spas in Florida, including some with the name Tokyo Day Spas — which the publication said has a reputation for offering sexual services.

Yang was not charged in the four-county, seven-month sex trafficking investigation that targeted 10 spas in Florida and nabbed some 300 alleged johns, including Kraft.

The White House, the Trump campaign and the Trump Organization have not responded to requests for comment, the report said.

Yang, a newcomer to Republican politics, and her close relatives have contributed more than $42,000 to Trump Victory, a political action committee, and more than $16,000 to the president’s campaign committee since 2017, according to the Miami Herald.

According to her Facebook page, the report said, Yang was invited to the White House for an Asian American and Pacific Islander Initiative event in February 2018. She attended the White House’s celebration of the Lunar New Year at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

Yang has attended other GOP and Trump-affiliated fundraisers, balls and events as well, including at Trump's "Winter White House" Mar-a-Lago. There, she was photographed with Trump's son Eric for the group Turning Points USA, a conservative college organization. The report said she's also met Donald Trump Jr.

Last I checked Liberals were the ones who want to legalize prostitution. I know, in their minds, they think it will make all the problems associated with this go away.

UNAIDS, WHO, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, UNFPA, and the medical journal The Lancet have advocated for the decriminalization of prostitution.

Age of victim in Epstein deal eased sex offender penalties: WaPo
Rachel Maddow explains new reporting from the Washington Post that because the age of the victim in the Jeffrey Epstein plea deal approved by current Labor Secretary Alex Acosta was 16 and not younger, Epstein was able to avoid registering as a sex offender in states where 16 is the age of consent.

New reporting bolsters case Epstein prosecutors misled judge
Quote:

Julie K. Brown, investigative reporter for the Miami Herald, talks with Rachel Maddow about new reporting that paints a clearer picture of whether underage victims of Jeffrey Epstein were informed about the plea deal he was given, and whether prosecutors were forthcoming about the arrangement with the judge.

Alex Acosta did not deny that he broke the law when he made a plea bargain deal with sex trafficker and child rapist Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire friend of Trump's.

this is disgusting... How can any US department of Justice worker go in and argue that this case should be set. To let off trumps best friend and partner in crime a serial pedophile.

again trump anointed the federal prosecutor a reward for letting Epstein off illegally. Now trump has his in-justice department that he should be let off because trumps labor secretary made a wrong as a prosecutor 10 years ago breaking the law so who cares. Maybe the 60 plus children that were raped by trump Epstein do.

US: Once-secret Jeffrey Epstein sex offender deal must stand

MIAMI (AP) — A once-secret plea deal reached a decade ago with wealthy convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein must stand, despite objections from many of his victims who were teenagers at the time, federal prosecutors said in a new court filing.

Prosecutors said a violation of the Crime Victims' Rights Act does not allow for the agreement to be voided. Some of the victims claim the deal, known as a non-prosecution agreement or NPA, should be thrown out at least partially because they were not consulted as required under that law.

"The past cannot be undone; the government committed itself to the NPA, and the parties have not disputed that Epstein complied with its provisions," prosecutors said.

Jack Scarola, an attorney for two victims who challenged the agreement in West Palm Beach federal court, said Tuesday that "the government has failed to comply with its own regulations" in the case.

"Congress did not contemplate the extraordinary circumstances of this conspiracy between the government and a serial child molester," Scarola said in an email.

The 2008 deal ended a federal investigation that could have landed Epstein, now 66, in prison for life. Instead, he was allowed to plead guilty to lesser state charges that resulted in a 13-month jail sentence and required financial settlements to dozens of his victims. He also had to register as a sex offender.

The agreement was overseen by former Miami U.S. Attorney Alexander Acosta, who is now President Donald Trump's labor secretary. In the face of intense criticism, Acosta has defended the plea deal as appropriate under the circumstances.

It will be up to U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra to decide what to do. The victims have a July 8 deadline to respond to the Justice Department's filing.

Although the Justice Department supports the Epstein agreement, Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jill Steinberg and Nathan Kitchens acknowledged in the filing that the failure to consult victims "fell short of the government's dedication to serve victims to the best of its ability."

They asked that Marra approve a Justice Department proposal that would allow victims to speak in a public court hearing about the Epstein agreement, if they wish. They also proposed that a government representative be chosen to meet with any victims privately to discuss the deal, and that additional training be required for prosecutors in the Miami-based federal district.

These actions, they wrote, "are necessary to give a voice to victims of Jeffrey Epstein and an opportunity for them to understand why the government resolved the case in the manner it did."

The prosecutors added that some victims said in recent meetings that they want to remain anonymous. The prosecutors also said voiding the plea deal might jeopardize the restitution money that Epstein paid them under its terms. Steinberg and Kitchens work in the Atlanta U.S. attorney's office, which was appointed to handle the case in March.

Epstein is a wealthy hedge fund manager who once counted as friends former President Bill Clinton, Great Britain's Prince Andrew, and Trump, who was his neighbor in Palm Beach at the time.

Court documents show at least 40 underage girls were brought into Epstein's Palm Beach mansion for what turned into sexual encounters. Authorities say he had female fixers who would look for suitable girls, some local and others recruited from Eastern Europe and other parts of the world.

Epstein also has maintained a home in New York City, a ranch in New Mexico and a private Caribbean island. Some of the girls were brought to those places as well, court documents show.
