Best time of year/OBX

During which months is the wind most reliable in Cape Hatteras ^

Ive heard the Spring and Fall are best on the OBX...March-April-May...September-October-November.

Mid April through mid June is most reliable. If you are willing to sail 6.5 and bigger you can probably sail most every day. If your counting on sailing 5.5 and smaller you just don’t know down here. You might catch a week that will wear you out, or, you may find yourself in a shop somewhere buying a 7.0.
I would expect to be sailing a lot right now and I haven’t had a good day for two weeks. Windfest is this weekend and it looks like they are going to have to be happy with just the fest part it. But since the early part of spring has not been so good, it HAS to be good in the late spring , right?
