I went to Treasure Island this Sunday at 3 to do some longboarding and found the gate to the access closed..is it closed on the weekends? |

Bert,
Did you try to access the ramp via Northpoint Dr? I have not sailed TI this year, but last year we mainly accessed the boatramp via Northpoint Drive rather than Avenue I. It does not have a gate. Just be careful not to park in front of the occupied condos. |

tajella,
I like to use the Avenue I road access as I can get real close to the ramp (I usually park at the end..close to the rip rap). Lugging a foilboard or my Kona longboard from Northpoint drive would be a serious pain in the ass..if you know what I mean. |

Not really,
There are a few parking spots on the north side of Northpoint. The distance is maybe 40-60 feet farther than the closest spot on Avenue I.
If you can't make those extra feet it might be best to avoid getting in the water.
Safety first. |
