6. Will the seller address its condition?
7.Lesson learned ?

I think they have priced the gear appropriately for their history. If I needed a sail I'd consider buying one of those sails knowing their history.

Price.. appropriate for condition.. Who does the rating, and what standard do they use ?

Is appropriate the same as you get what you pay for?
Let the buyer beware .

very common problem with older sails. I don't know exactly what material was used in the 90's but it was a film laminated to a thin fabric, probably dacron. They delaminate. I was given many sails over the years. I throw out any that are delaminated. In high wind those panels will tear or blow out. I bought 2 newer sails (NP combats) that came from a rental center. Panels ripped. Downhaul pulley ripped out. Total waste of money. My old Ezzys i bought are bulletproof.

The problem is the glue is breaking down. Someone chose the wrong glue for the proprietary lay-up. It is almost unheard of in products made in the Dimension Polyant shop in the USA. Their glue uses a UV blocker and other stabilizers to help extend the useful life. They are the best!

Bob, now you have to tell us who uses the Dimension Polyant products!

The "wrong glue" thing reminds me of some boards that have serious issues with the foot padding coming loose, although that might just be a "Monday board" problem.
