The Blunt Point and Aquatic Park sensors have been a no-show for a few days now. Any news on their status? |

Here is the response from the weatherflow/iwindsurf overlords:
Hi Ross,
Thanks for writing in! Our maintenance team is doing their best to bring Blunt Point and Aquatic Park stations back online as soon as possible. We don't have a timeline on a fix but we are working on this issue daily. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience.
Kind Regards,
Tim Nicholas

This is the same non-response we had for weeks last year when the TI sensor went down. Unfortunately, we only got action when we called iwindsurf advertisers to alert them of a potential boycott unless the meters are maintained.

Hi Ross,
Our SIM cards stopped communicating with the network towers for some reason. Our maintenance office, (in Bolton, MA) has been on the phone every day, troubleshooting with representatives to try and fix the communications. We are also trying to get in touch with a local technician to perform some maintenance on the Blunt Point station.
Executive Summary: someone in Massachusetts is making a phone call to a "representative" [for who is unclear], and trying to call or write a local "technician." |

If you have a tall ladder and wire cutters, you too can become a "representative"! |

Hi, Tim here to help clarify...
"troubleshooting with representatives to try and fix the communications" meaning troubleshooting the SIM cards with the cellular network carrier
Yes - we are working on it. It's not a simple repair, but we will get things back to normal. We appreciate your patience. |

Update from Tim Nichols at weatherflow/iwindsurf:
"What you and other subscribers need to know: We are working on a potential short-term solution and regardless of fixing the wireless communications issue with the network provider a service visit is imminent to the SF bay area between tentative dates 05/20-05/24 to perform maintenance and upgrades on the Blunt Point weather station. Thank you for your patience."

Today's update:
Thanks for reaching out. We completely understand the danger and issues with these few stations being offline and our sensor maintenance team is making them their top priority. At the current time, we don't have an exact time on when they'll be back online. There is a possibility they will be both back online later today (5/11/19) but I'm not 100% about that. On a side note, we're planning a visit out to the SF Bay later in May to upgrade the stations with newer hardware.
We appreciate your support!
Kind Regards,
William Gidley

Thanks for getting blunt Pt back online so quickly! Appreciated. This sensor is the anchor of central bay sailing. |
