Yeah, looking back, it was fun to go thru the shortboard revolution from 9'6" noseriders to 7'6" deep V bottoms to 6' wide flat bottom and so on.... |

exactly, that's part of the fun, spending money on untested terrain.
I had one of the first no nose slalom way back when, just as fun I'd say. |

I couldn't understand why they called boards with such long noses "no-noses". I got to test many of them long before they hit the streets ... er, water ... and hated most of them unless fully powered. The damned things weathervaned (swung into the wind) the instant they fell off a plane. Another example of "new is better" BS from the manufacturers. Kudos to the shapers who refused to follow that stupid trend at all, and to others who quickly regained their senses. |

I thought the 82 liter Sputnik the best all around board ever made. Fast in flattish water, jumped superb, early planing for 17+ breezes, and fantastic to jibe. |
