FWIW

When you come down the hill on route 28 from Chatham, it is a spectacular view. It has all the touristy things - moored boats, pricey real-estate, and views leading out to the ocean's barrier dunes.

Eons of northeast winds have carved a near perfect venue for inland storm sailing.

Went to sailing camp there multiple years in the 80s, we would race in Big Pleasant every Saturday and some excellent times/memories. Sailed there a few years ago for a week and still have family in area. Big Pleasant is nice, Little Pleasant is tricky with lots of sand/shallows. Both bays seem to be filling with sand since a new cut formed a few years ago. There have been great whites spotted in the cut, but I kind of doubt they would head into pleasant because of the shallow water, but having said that there are seals in the bay now so it may just be a matter of time.
Saying the cape has been overrun would be an understatement, some horrific mcmansions now dot the entire perimeter of Big Pleasant. Sail through the narrows and head over near old Viking camp in Little Pleasant to see the last tract of underdeveloped land, nice to see how it all once looked, same with Sipson island. Although I just checked and thought Sipson had been protected but looks like listed for sale for 8 million. There is another section of islands protected near the national shore but memory you can only sail over there at high tide with very shallow draft..........

For those coming from the Boston area, Plymouth Harbor is a great spot if you are not into waves. Has been my fallback when things were just a little too much on the ocean. Was the only place I could find that wasn't off limits by authorities during the "Perfect Storm" 27 years ago.

Planning on heading to Point Judith on Thursday. Right now thinking Scarborough or Aunt Carries/Bon Vue.
