A lot less controversial here than other countries. Very Happy

Then again, 98% of US windsurfers have never seen an RS:X in the flesh.

The windsurfing world missed their best shot of reviving the sport. Windsurfer LT would have given a chance for a revival.

I very much doubt that. I was at a couple of light wind race events in the last few weeks. At the first one, it was 4 longboarders vs. 10 foilers. A few foilers chose to slog in sub-10 mph wind rather than take the longboard from the car that they had used in previous years.

At the second event, there were 3 longboards, 2 or 3 SUPs, and about 10-15 shortboards. This race actually included one Windsurfer LT, but it was a rental from the local shop (the closed thing to a raceboard they had). No foils were allowed, mostly due to shallow water.

Bottom line: strong interest in foil racing, even from former longboarders; very little interest in the Windsurfer LT. As much as I like the idea behind the LT, I can't see myself spending > $1000 to switch from my Mistral Equipe 2 (or even the F2 Lightning) to a slower board.

If the LT was any less interesting it would be flat water SUP racing Mr. Green

Foiling is exactly where windsurfing is headed for tactical course racing.
