| To move beyond the absurdity of Trump and his supporters making the wearing of masks a cultural battleground—here is something new. A web site now forecasts the likely differences in infections depending on whether mask restrictions are implemented. |

Masks are now require in North Carolina, unless outdoors where social distancing is achievable.

I am guessing that the enforcement issue will pretty much be a joke. And if you are wondering, I have been wearing a mask from the very beginning when in stores and take out restaurant's. Gloves too, but only when wipes are not provided. |

| I'm heading to SDak this weekend to visit my aging mom. Trump is headed there too. I will wear a mask to help protect a population of, largely, Trump supporters. Will he? |

Because masks are not 100% effective. If they were, health care workers would not be dying. Pandemic growth relies on the ability of the infection to spread rapidly. Anything that slows down the growth, such as masks, social distancing and reduction of crowd sizes reduces the growth potential.
One of the first "story problems" one learns in calculus is how variables applied to non-linear expansion can increase the total number exponentially. |
