Just finished packing my new trailer which I built. Now the question is where do I go. Hoping that Isaias will scare away the parking attendants. This resident only access is crazy. With state beaches closing at noon they do not give me a choice.

Right now I am focusing on West Haven, CT. Will get there early to scout-out and prerig the 4.0, 3.2, and 2.8. Fall back will be Long Wharf, New Haven. Parking there is unrestricted (who would swim there?).

I have friends sailing at Jakob's beach in Guilford. Not that windy yet. 5.5 or so. Could get real crazy later!

Did anyone get out? Stories? I need to live vicariously through someone else.

I missed our day-after-Hanna session (mast-high waves) due to my own poor timing, and I'm still not over it. Best conditions we have had in 12 years.

had about 2 1/2hrs maybe a little more. south shore LI. started out nice on 4.7's for v45min....then 3.7's . great time. we almost were gonna go out for that "last" run. when all of a sudden the gusts came. as the one guys sailing said "liquid smoke" on the water. it went crazy real quick. glad we stayed on land.

The OBX were disappointing. Got out the evening before and the morning after, but it was a small, fast moving system so the winds were only in the low 20s before dark, and disappeared quickly the following morning. For us, the real action required headlights.

Had a great 3 hour session at Nahant, MA. 4.7 and then 4.2. Short period wind swell built to about shoulder high. Highest gust at a nearby meter was 58 mph . . . it was a good workout! Except for a few short, very intense squalls, we actually had partly cloudy skies and sun (even a rainbow as the storm cleared).

Started with the 3.2 and later rerigged to the 2.8. Took it safe and sailed in New Haven Harbor. A lot of spectators stopped by to take a look.

Here is some footage taken.
