fxop:

thanks for understanding, Your question is a good one. I pulled up the "wind archive" with windows side by side showing the airport sensor's info for last month next to the Kanaha's sensor's info for the same month. There are variations, but not that much. The airport sensor updates less often, so the graph is less smooth. It often does seem a bit higher, and slower to register changes, likely due to less frequent reports. I'm also not quite sure how accurate its wind direction info is.

However, I think it is quite useful and my unhappiness is more related to a "long term relationship" with the Kanaha one allowing me to learn it better. I think that with practice and time I will learn to use and understand the airport sensor better and can live with it. In fact, even if they get the Kanaha sensor up again I will start to use the airport one too so that I can learn how to interpret it better.

Maybe I'll then find that the Kanaha sensor is not needed.
