Iso's is a perfect example of the sheeple run by FOX news. He spouts perfect FOX news talking points. My favorite one was "Even if it were, would a Trump administration deny those facts?" I coughed up my coffee laughing so hard when I read that one.

That's just stupid.

The pandemic and the associated extra unemployment benefits started in 2009?

Nope, I think it's poor management to have held the minimum wage at
7.25 for so long, but that wasn't my point. If I were doing janitorial work
for 7.25 an hour (I actually did it for less than that in my youth), there's
no way I'd be interested in returning to the work force while covid relief pays
me $15/hour as an unemployment benefit. You might take a ~50% salary
reduction to go to work, but I wouldn't.

Maybe not. But there are jobs available for $15-$20/hr. everywhere right now. And the supplemental money ended in September. |

Covid benefits have ended and when effective, they were only avaiable to those who lost their jobs due to covid. |

Do you think the Child Tax Credits will motivate folks to go back to work?
Quote: | Advance Child Tax Credit payments in 2021
Important changes to the Child Tax Credit will help many families get advance payments of the credit starting this summer. The IRS will pay half the total credit amount in advance monthly payments beginning July 15. You will claim the other half when you file your 2021 income tax return. Visit the official IRS.gov page for more information.
A1. For tax year 2021, the Child Tax Credit is increased from $2,000 per qualifying child to:
$3,600 for children ages 5 and under at the end of 2021; and
$3,000 for children ages 6 through 17 at the end of 2021.
While the income cutoff for the child tax credit used to start phasing out at $110,000 for married couples, it is now at $400,000 for the modified adjusted gross income. This limit phases out completely at $440,000. For singles filers, it begins to phase out with a modified adjusted gross income of $200,000, phasing out completely at $240,000.
Taxpayers who are married filing jointly with an adjusted gross income of $400,000 or less can receive the full credit. |

Polls show that women with young children are reluctant to re-enter the labor market because of the high cost of child care and/or the need to oversee their on-line education. Democratic proposals to help with child care have been opposed by every Trump Republocan. |
