Windsurfed Natural Bridges three times this week; Monday Thursday & Friday.

Monday three windsurfers were out. Fun Day. Nice swell and good wind. I was on a 5.2. The other two were on sails not too far from that.

Wednesday the Santa Cruz Sentinel Newspaper posted a pic on the front page taken at the end of my session on Monday. If they had photographed one of the other windsurfers going down the line at Sidewalks, I am sure that pic would have appeared in the paper instead. Pic of paper below:

Thursday, I was out sailSUPping in the lighter wind and not far from the half mile out buoy saw a dolphin carcass with a lot of bite marks on it. Went back to check it out to see if I could determine the dolphins species and there was a great white shark munching on it. I went in for the day.

Friday was a routine sailSUPping day. Did get 17.2 knots out of the setup for a max peak picker speed. Not bad considering the light wind.

Tried Alameda at the peak of the flood and the storm today on 3.3 and 82L. Was blown out of the water twice. Unmanageable current and wave drift. 40 knots gusts with 15 knots lulls. Wasn't pretty, but made it out and back without breaking anything. Mild temperature, but relentless rain.
Was there from Noon to 3pm, and earlier would have been better probably.
One sailor made it look really good, he also on a 3.3. One kiter decent. One wing (surprisingly) made it out and in too.
Many wings trying to get out, holding to their foils for dear life, made me really think that the conditions weren't for that...

Anybody sailed elsewhere?

Alameda can be like mini-Pozo when it gets like that. No my cup of tea these days, but good for you guys that got out there!

Pozo... That's what I thought too.
Without the rocks, thanks God!
Rocks as wave breakers would have been carnage. 😱

A good 7.5 + Futura 72 short day at the Stick. Two wings out. And the homeless encampment is in the process of moving. Good for them, they are going to a better location.

We are left with the abandoned Park! No rangers, ugly cement blocks, disintegrating shore line, no restrooms ... I think I am going to miss the homeless population. They kept the launching area clean for two years!
