More updates:

NWS:
" Rainfall has been as forecasted so far, ranging from 1.50–4.00" within the valleys in the North Bay above 5" for for higher peaks over the last 12 hours. Mt Tam continues to be the rainfall leader with 7.50" in that time period."

In the first image check out the wild winds at the surface and just aloft by the Bodega Bay profiler. Time goes from right to left.

Rarely, by the time you hear the thunder from lightning, it is too late. Carbon fiber masts make great lightning rods and long kevlar lines are not too bad either.

So the image below shows the lightning in the last 24 hours. Almost all the lightning activity has been closer to the center of the storm off the Pacific Northwest.

That said I can see some major convective activity between San Jose and Merced but none near the Bay Area.
