I hope the aforementioned shark got 38cm of carbon fin stuck through his lower jaw for his trouble. Anyone ever tagged marine life with their fin that they know of while sailing? I now have great respect for my fin(s) after I self-inflicted a 2 long, 1/8 deep gash across my ankle and calf with a 50cm carbon job while struggling to learn to waterstart in rough water. The trailing edge is like a ginsu. I wonder how many bluegill and striped bass it has butchered.

Windsurfing in the relatively safe inland waters of Ontario, Canada, our biggest problem as of late is Zebra Mussels. They cut your foot something fierce. An earlier contributor reminded me of one of our local formula racers out practicing early last fall in high winds. All of a sudden the board stops dead and Jeff goes flying off the front. fo the board. When he got back on the board he looked around to find the floating log he presumed he had hit. Instead there is a very large fish cut in half still floating nearby.
