Thanks!

Berkeley could be really good on N-NWor NE clearing after a good storm. This pic was taken on Dec 27, 2006. I like SF background.

Hi Coachg,

What do you look at to evaluate the wind at Rancho Seco? Is looking for the winds at Herald (town near by) a good idea? What do you check?

Thx!

I don't use Herald as a source when going weather sites. If you type in Herald you usually get the wind readings for Matherfield, which is about 20 miles north. I go to the national weather site http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/sto/obsmap_sto.php
and click on lake Comanchie. It is a few miles south east of Seco. Read the gusts, not the averages and you will get a good idea of the wind. If you can find a reliable site at Galt, that would help as well.

anyone have any recent photos of Bodega, Tomales, or Limantour?

anyone sailed up that way recently?

Lots of sailors still frequenting those waters? Don't hear much about the far north bay / point reyes area. But it's been SMOKIN up there

I know what is my least favorite: 3rd Ave on a zero tide. That's what I did, or attempted to do this Wednesday. I ended up walking damn near to the channel marker. Then there was less wind in the channel than inside. But no water inside. I shoulda known better.

On a zero tide I just had to Embassy. Crappy launch is not so awful when waves aren't crashing on the slabs.
