Some friends and I are taking 10 days off on a windsurf road trip from SF to Vancouver Island during the week of 4th of July. We'll be at The Gorge during the Freestyle Frenzy. I'm looking for information on spots along the coast of Oregon and Washington, and in Canada. The wives are coming too so I'd also appreciate info on places to see and stay. We're driving one or two Westfalias and a minivan so camping is preferred.

Thanks

Careful with that OR coast trip; the OR coast is so fascinating that I sometimes can't tear myself away from it. As for the WA coast . . . take I-5, IMO, unless you have time to burn. There's no comparison.

Pistol River can have some of the prettiest waves. Spend a night or two at the beautiful county campground at Floras Lake if you can. Worth it for the view alone, and sometimes you can get a great flat water session, if you're not a wave snob. First come, first served, tho you can always backtrack to the KOA or one of the state beaches.

Thanks to everyone. Floras was already on my list, great for the wife to get on a board. I hope we get some wind there and the crowds aren't too big.
