Hi all,

My new board is starting to show evidence of some wear around the base. Does this look like I could lose the box? No evidence of cracking around surrounding Sailing area. Cracks isolated to area beneath thickest part of of fin chord.

Thank you to all who reply intelligently.

Bill

I think the fin needs to be sanded a bit ,it's rubbing on the fin box. Caused the paint to chip off. Shocked

Pretty much all of my boards look like this. It is just a little of the paint chipping off around the edge of the box. I have never had or seen a board start leaking from this kind of wear.

OK, is that silver or white paint in your board? Don't know if this is a coincidence but you should read this...

Thanks for all the great input.
It makes me wonder why some companies even use these flimsy boxes.
This box is on an 88L board.

thanks Christian of Maui Windsurf Company and all other replies.
