Hey, it's East wind, but it was wind! |
Thanks! It looks like it was averaging about 23 mph or so during that time. |

It's probably too soon to call for a boycott of the Crab Shack, but it might be good for someone to stop by and politely explain to them that if they don't allow iWindsurf to access the sensor, hundreds of potential Crab Shack customers will be very angry. |

I was there Sunday sailing from noon to 2:00. Even though most of us were on 4.7's, it really wasn't that windy. The middle of the river was a big hole, and even the edges were probably actually 5.3 to 6.0.
Still, it was better to be sailing in a beautiful place in the East wind with a long beach to save me than it would have been to stay at home and paint the house. |

OK, OK ... so I'm quoting myself. It's a slow news ... and wind ... day.
I just wanted to clarify my opening phrase in the quote. That wasn't an indictment of iW; the vast majority of those skunks were in New Mexico, where our only forecast source was NOAA, the lakes were > 150 miles away, and we had to abort work and start the drive based on forecasts long before the wind picked up. Most days on the Columbia the drive is short enough that I can wait for wind to leave home, and how do I know when it's time to leave?
It ain't NOAA.

4.7's ALL DAY! ??? Hell I was on a 3.5 and it was like a fan. I only stopped sailing because I was getting hungry after sailing for 10 hours. Man you need to quit wasting so much wind. |

My buds whose weights hit triple digits -- in pounds, not kg -- were on 5.7s and still marginally powered except on the very far side. Let me guess ... you were using that 3.5 as a paddle for your longboard.
