SF Fleet Week Parade & Air Shows 10/4-7
Fleet Week starts tomorrow with air shows running every day (Thursday 10/4 to Sunday 10/7) from roughly noon until 5pm and the Parade of Ships from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Saturday.
There is a restricted zone in effect during (and just before and after) the airshows. The west edge of the restricted zone is just north of the St. Francis Yacht Club and the zone extends well to the east of Pier 39.

Please try to stay well upwind of the zone. There will likely be a lot of boat traffic out for the air show, especially on the weekend. While being under the jets can be fun, one Coast Guard Auxiliary boat was seriously damaged by the concussion of a low pass a couple of shows back, so you can guess what that shock wave might do to the aerodynamics of a sail or kite.
Enjoy the show.

I am sure we'd all just hate to see a kiters board shorts ripped off by a low flying jet, horrible thought that it may expose the patent leather g-string that they are covering up.

It's always a thrill to see the Blue Angels fly over Coyote. Here's a shot of their return flyby this afternoon.

This kite video is obviously a fake as the plane would be landing downwind and there would be a safe zone for the approach, alas, we can only hope that kiters see this and immediately quit. Always fun to imagine it though.

Hey Gabor! You think we could have the tower at LAX modify a few flight corridors to align with Leo... more wind for W/S and fewer kiters!!! Bull
