Broke my 460 yesterday off Crown Beach on my first run of the day.

Thanks to Tod for sailing over and helping me disassemble my rig and roll up my sail. Thanks to Bob for driving over to pick me up.

Few scratches on my feet and one tiny puncture ding to my new JP Xcite Ride from when I scrambled up the rocks of the breakwater by Ballena Bay marina.

Anybody know any good ding repair places now that Boardsport is gone?

Cheers,

- Ari

Eva The board lady is great 805 218-6537.
Your board will look like new! Sometimes she picks up or delivers.

Marine epoxy stick is good stuff for small punctures. It is easy to work with, dries fast, and you can sand it when it is hard.

Sorry to hear about your board and mast. Here are a list of board repair places:

Fat Kat Surf Shop Fairfax 415-453-9167
Soheil Zahedi Crissy/SF 415-244-5379
John Forsyte San Francisco (415) 365-3329

Please let us know if you need a new or slightly used 460 mast. We can hook you up. We are the "new" Boardsports. We have the school & shop in Alameda and at Coyote in San Mateo. We also have an office location in the city if you need gear here.

Finally, if you find other repair places, please let me know. I'm trying to keep a master list.

Sorry to hear about your mast. Is Alameda oil free now? I saw a guy at Sherman on Sat that said Berkeley was still a mess. I opted out of heading to Alameda on the SE for that reason.

I just came back from sailing Berkeley in the morning. No mess. No signs of oil, water looks and smells clean. The cal sailing club and cal adventures are open for activities with the City approval.

Ari,

I was glad I was able to help out and was really glad Bob decided not to rig up and head out. That would have been a long walk if he hadn't picked you up. Good luck getting a replacement mast and getting the board fixed. BTW - when I told you're girlfriend that you had broken your mast, she didn't seem concerned at all. I guess she figures you're a good swimmer. Knowing that the water was cold my buddy John and I did keep an eye on you. I'm glad it worked out and hopefully we'll see you out again.

Just curious at to what brand mast you were using?

thanks, Todd
