I went Paddleboarding in Monterey on Thanksgiving day. I launched at Wharf # 2 , paddled past both wharfs , past the giant sea lions at the breakwater , and on to the Aquarium where the seas started to get a little rough. On the way I encountered all kinds of sea life including a large school of jellyfish. Its a great place to go out early before the windswells kick up.My next visit there will be a go out at Carmel Beach to the 18th hole at Pebble Beach. The wind line is past the kelpbeds which are a quater mile out so if you stay inside the kelp it should be smooth paddling. There is public access at the Beach Club at Pebble Beach, ( a well kept secret) so you can rest up and take in the sights before heading back.
