After 25 years of riding there I can reassure you that you will rarely make the walk without an offer of assistance! Feel free to stick out your thumb. (Don't tell anyone, but I often just do a river run to the powerlines on faith--KNOWING I can easily hitch back to my car at the end of the road.)
It can be spotty in March though...
(Excellent day there today and the sensors don't really show the whole story. Plenty windy on the inside this afternoon, light in the channel. Season is upon us fo' shizzle.) |

A big up to the good samaritan, but us Smogsville guys are dying to know if the lunatic, knife wielding man of Asia has been spotted this season at Sherman Isle? That was almost as good theater as the kiter vs W/S debacle at Leo! Wind, Bull |

As far as I know, no windsurfer pulled a knife on any kiter. |

is debris in the water a problem now at Rio? Spring runoff is probably starting about now, I've sometimes seen it as a problem there, how bad is it usually? May be there in 2 weeks. Water at Washoe lake is 41 degrees so far but plenty of water, some Kiters out, but not too much windsurfing yet-kind of freakish winds so far. |

Right now it is looking good. I sailed Tuesday and Wednesday, excellent conditions, no debris. |
