Sure its not Crissy, Embassy or Coyote. Its Charm? Proximity to Berkeley and SF. That and its sunny!
Just some footage of the gang. Shot in HD 1080. 720p upload. Depending on your connection, it may take a minute.
Song is Hydra by Toto.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,
Thanks for posting the video... looks fun. I also saw your Bodega video and saw how you got hurt. How long are you out of action? I was also forced to the sideline the last several days w/ a bad back. I've always believed it is a windsurfer's civic duty to take pictures/video when they are injured!
I also hit a sandbar at Bodega two years ago... destroyed the nose of my brand new board, broke my boom head, and hurt my ankle! I feel for you.
I dislocated my foot/ankle in 1999 (skateboarding)... no bueno. Hope yours is less serious. _________________ Kevin Kan

Hi Kevin,
The shallow spots are brutal.
Which shop is yours. I am looking for a 115-120lt board. Do you carry Mistral? |

Hey Suba-rude,
Sent you a PM.
Yeah, brutal. So what kind of minimum tide to you need to sail off the yacht club at Bodega? I guess at Hart's Beach you can sail on any tide b/c you're in the boat channel? I've only sailed Hart's twice... made my first jibe there
i'm not stocking Mistral as of now... although the Mistral guy just called me this morning _________________ Kevin Kan

Great quality video. No offense, but the music by Toto is on the swanny side though. |

Kevin, you need at least a 2 ft tide to sail the yacht club, but that is pushing it. I learned to sail there (great spot for that, you can stand almost anywhere) but have also hit the mud and busted up my equipment. High tide is the most fun, long reaches and no worries about sudden stops. Always bring a weed fin.
As far as Hart's (aka the Ditch) you only want to sail there at either peak low or peak high tide or whenever there is not much tidal fluctuation. The channel is so skinny that as soon as the tide starts to run out you get a nasty washboard effect. Like a mini Rio, but not fun. |
