if you want to head up the Hudson River, there are lots of spots we river rats sail out of. Go to http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/HudsonRiverWindsurfers/
Ask to join the group and you'll get access to all the Hudson River info. Also check out my Hudson River windsurfing blog at

Here's where I talk about my own personal experiences windsurfing on the Hudson. The Hudson isn't a very forgiving place to sail, but it can be a lot of fun.
