Could one of the folks who launched off pipe platform on the north end of TI yesterday give some details/tips on using that spot? e.g. Where to park and rig, location of fence gaps, best strategies for getting in and out of the water, etc.

Thanks in advance.

and more importantly, were you wearing booties? Those rocks look intimidating and exposed in high wind/swell days. I like my feet bare in the straps Smile

I've been itching to go out on the N side of TI for a while. I work part time at the sailing center so I've always launched out of there. I haven't explored the N side fully but you'll definitely be sneaking through dillapidated areas and I'm not sure about parking. Despite this you launch right into the main windchannel on that N side. I'd imagine similar conditions to Crissy but you have the advantage of beach launching just under the NE corner in the lee...

I may just be dreaming about the beach but the cove is definitely sheltered.

Here's a google map:

jptsf,

this link to fill you in, we've been sailing the north end all the way to Angel Island for years. Do a search for Treasure Island on this forum and you'll find more info

Crank up your imagination a couple of notches.
